McDermotts Advise Tower Records
LONDON - McDermott Will & Emery is currently advising MTS Incorporated, which trades as Tower Records, on various aspects of the disposal of its flagship stores in Kensington and Piccadilly, which has been negotiated with Virgin Retail Group. This is part of Tower Record's gradual withdrawal from the UK retail market with the staff from these sites also being transferred to Virgin when the retailer ceases trading.
Over the past year, the Firm has been advising MTS, Inc. in the sale of its subsidiaries in Mexico, Argentina, Ireland and England, in addition to advising MTS on new license/franchise transactions in those same countries, as well as in Malaysia, Chile and Saudi Arabia.
McDermott's legal team advising MTS, include partners Jorge Arciniega, Nick Azis, Joel Bernstein; associate Rohan Massey; and foreign consultant Chanir Velarde.
