McDermott Honored with the 2008 Robert B. Fraser Award for Pro Bono Excellence

BOSTON (June 2, 2008) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that the Firm will be honored with the 2008 Robert B. Fraser Award for Pro Bono Excellence by the Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts of Massachusetts, Inc. (VLA).  McDermott will be presented with the award at the annual VLA Jazz Night on Thursday, June 12, 2008, at the Scullers Jazz Club in the Double Tree Guest Suites Hotel.

The Fraser Award is given annually by the VLA to an individual lawyer, law firm or legal services organization that shows a sincere dedication to serving the legal needs of the cultural and artistic communities of Massachusetts.

The Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts of Massachusetts, Inc. is a not-for-profit organization established to meet the legal needs of the state's artistic community.  Since its inception, the VLA has expanded its services to include legal services for artists and arts organizations as well as educational opportunities for artists, arts organizations and attorneys.  VLA also assists local art and cultural institutions in finding attorneys to sit on their respective boards of directors who embrace the mission of the individual organization.  For more information visit: www.vlama.org.
