New York Office Continues to Expand its Capital Markets Practice
NEW YORK (March 2, 2005) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce the arrival of two new members to its capital markets practice in New York. Howard Mulligan joined as a partner and David A. Trapani as counsel, continuing McDermott's growth in the area of structured finance. Messrs. Mulligan and Trapani bring more depth to the Firm's ability to advise international financial market clients on structured finance and securitization transactions.

"With the addition of Howard and David, we have added three partners and one counsel to our finance practice in New York in the past two months."
Mr. Mulligan, formerly counsel at Dewey Ballantine LLP, focuses on a wide range of securitization and structured finance transactions involving commercial mortgages, residential mortgages, auto loans and leases, utility receivables, stranded costs, synthetic products (including interest rate and credit default swaps), trade receivables, franchise loans, health care receivables, commercial paper conduits, bank loans, bond obligations (including cash flow and market value transactions), insurance related products and equipment and operating leases.
Mr. Trapani, formerly an associate at Allen & Overy LLP, focuses his practice in the area of derivatives and structured finance. He has represented swap providers in numerous structured finance transactions and has provided hedge funds and corporate clients with general derivatives advice. Mr. Trapani also has worked on many projects for the International Swaps and Derivatives Association, Inc. (ISDA), including ISDA's U.S. netting and collateral opinions and the 2002 ISDA Master Agreement.
Mr. Mulligan earned his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Note Dame Law School. He is admitted to practice in New York. Mr. Trapani earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1995. Subsequently, he earned an LL.M. (financial services law), with high honors, from Chicago-Kent College of Law in 1996 and another LL.M. (securities and financial regulation), with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center in 1998. David earned his B.A., with high distinction, in economics from the University of Iowa in 1992.
