Prominent Litigation Group Added to Washington Office
WASHINGTON, D.C. - McDermott Will & Emery announced today that a team of six prominent senior litigation attorneys, led by Carr Goodson Warner name partner Margaret H. Warner, has joined its Washington, D.C. office. The group, nationally known for its successes in complex litigation, will practice in McDermott's Trial Department.
The group is well known for its national trial success in complex cases involving the insurance industry. Ms. Warner has served as lead counsel in precedent setting cases such as In re Texas Eastern, the Love Canal litigation and various trials involving mass torts, such as those relating to liability for silicone gel breast implants.
"With an impressive track record on cases ranging from insurance coverage to products liability matters, this group is a key addition to our Trial Department and significantly enhances our litigation component in Washington," commented Trial Department head Robert E. Bouma.

Peg Warner will continue her complex litigation practice, with an emphasis on disputes in the international insurance and reinsurance markets. She focuses her practice on the areas of insurance coverage, reinsurance, environmental, mass tort and product liability litigation. Ms. Warner has served as lead counsel in federal and state trial and appellate cases in more than 25 states. She received her law degree from the University of Notre Dame and is a graduate of St. Lawrence University.
Also joining the office are partners M. Miller Baker, Mark A. Collins, Gregory A. Krauss and James G. Rizzo.
Miller Baker concentrates his practice on political and constitutional litigation, and has substantial experience in complex commercial and intellectual property litigation. He is a former counsel to the United States Senate Judiciary Committee and has argued successfully in the United States Supreme Court. Mr. Baker attended Louisiana State University and received his J.D. from Tulane University Law School.
Mark Collins focuses his practice on complex insurance coverage, toxic tort, and intellectual property litigation. Mr. Collins' experience also includes counseling clients on insurance coverage issues, with a focus on employment, technology, and directors and officers liability claims. Mr. Collins received his B.A., cum laude, from Loma Linda University and his J.D. from the University of Southern California.
Gregory Krauss will continue to litigate cases involving complex scientific issues, including environmental insurance coverage, toxic tort, indoor air quality and intellectual property litigation. Mr. Krauss has particular experience representing clients in toxic tort product liability cases, including asbestos, lead paint, silica sand, VOC exposures and indoor air quality. He received his undergraduate degree in chemical engineering from the University of Notre Dame and his law degree from the Delaware Law School of Widener University.
James Rizzo concentrates his practice in the representation of insurers in complex, multi-party litigation in both state and federal courts. He also is experienced in the areas of environmental insurance, reinsurance, products liability and intellectual property. He will continue to develop his information technology practice, advising companies regarding the risks and liabilities of conducting business on the Internet. Mr. Rizzo is a graduate of Georgetown University and received his J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law.
