McDermott Will & Emery Appoints New London Office Head
LONDON (08 October 2009) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery LLP has today announced that Hugh Nineham has been appointed to the role of London office head.
Nineham joined the London office in April 2008 from Lovells where he previously headed up their international corporate practice and was a member of the firm’s international Executive Committee. Nineham has been practising law for more than 30 years in the UK.
Commenting on his appointment, Hugh Nineham said, “The legal landscape has changed dramatically in the past 12 months and all firms are adapting to a changed market. The London office of McDermott has a strong voice within the Firm and I look forward to continuing the development and integration of the London practices with others across the Firm, and to focus on the areas that are key to us in this changed environment.”
McDermott is bolstering its energy capability globally and last week announced the hire of partner, David Birchall from Denton Wilde Sapte, to the energy group in the London office. This follows the hire of Stefan Schmitz in late 2008, and the recent expansion of the Houston office the hire of partner Sergio Pozzerle. Since opening in February 2008 the Houston office has recruited 11 high-profile energy partners who work closely with the energy teams worldwide to provide global energy services.
