Trial Partner Michael Kendall Named Client Service All-Star

BOSTON (March 25, 2009) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that its Boston partner Michael Kendall has earned a client nomination to The BTI Client Service All-Star Team for Law Firms 2009The BTI Client Service All-Star Team honors a select group of approximately 176 lawyers that deliver superior client service to Fortune 1000 clients.  Lawyers may only be named to The BTI Client Service All-Star Team through unprompted client referrals for superior client service.  According to BTI Consulting, clients consistently identify lawyers as delivering superior client service, including client focus, understanding the client's business and delivering results.

BTI interviewed individual corporate counsel at Fortune 1000 organizations and large professional service firms.  Clients are asked about a broad range of issues, including client satisfaction and client service.  Previous McDermott All-Star Team members include: Brooks Gruemmer, Michael Fayhee, Michael Peregrine, David Rogers and most recently Michael Pope.

Mr. Kendall represents clients in business litigation and civil and criminal regulatory matters.  His civil experience includes mergers and acquisition litigation, securities disputes, class actions, antitrust cases, and advising directors and audit committees on corporate governance issues.  He also has substantial experience in securities regulation, campaign finance, government ethics, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, healthcare, money laundering and forfeiture, asset tracing, bank fraud and tax matters.  Mr. Kendall has tried numerous cases in federal and state courts, and also has handled numerous appeals.  He has represented clients in investigations by Congressional committees and special prosecutors.

From 1989 to 1996, Mr. Kendall served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the District of Massachusetts.  During 1992, he served as the Deputy Associate Attorney General and Counselor in the U.S. Department of Justice. 

Mr. Kendall is active in several public service and pro bono matters.  He has served as a special counsel to the Massachusetts commission that investigates judicial misconduct.  He is an overseer and pro bono counsel to a highly regarded private, inner city middle school.  He is the former co-chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Committee on Federal Practice and Procedure, and formerly served on the Federal Magistrate Selection Committee.
