West Coast Intellectual Property Practice Continues Growth
MENLO PARK, CA — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that David Larson and Robert J. Blanch have joined the Firm's Intellectual Property Department as partners, resident in its Silicon Valley office. With the arrival of Mr. Larson and Mr. Blanch, McDermott's West Coast IP practice has added six partners since January, following the arrival of Terry McMahon, head of the Firm's West Coast Intellectual Property Practice.
"As you can see from the pace at which our IP team is growing and the significant IP projects coming in the door, the Firm's West Coast practice is thriving," said Terry McMahon.
Mr. Larson's practice is concentrated on patent litigation, including copyright and trade secret litigation. He has experience in copyright and patent infringement cases representing various technology based companies. Prior to joining McDermott Mr. Larson was a partner of Wilson, Sonsini , Goodrich & Rosati, resident in their Palo Alto office. Mr. Blanch, who previously worked at Orrick, Herrington, Sutcliffe's Menlo Park office, focuses his practice on litigation issues relating to patent, copyright and trademark infringement, trade secrets and antitrust law. He also has experience in complex civil litigation, client counseling, and has assisted in the preparation of technology agreements and software licenses.
Mr. Larson is admitted to practice in California, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, various U.S. District Courts, and before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He received his B.S. in chemical engineering in 1978 from Stanford University and his J.D. from Georgetown University in 1983.
Mr. Blanch earned his J.D. in 1994 from the Boston University School of Law, a M.S. in electrical engineering from Northeastern University in 1989 and a B.S. with honors in electrical engineering from Northeastern University in 1987. He is admitted to practice in California, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Massachusetts, and before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
