Arnold V. Pamplona Named President of Philippine American Bar Association
LOS ANGELES (March 19, 2009) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Arnold V. Pamplona, a partner in the Firm's Health Law Department based in Los Angeles, was inducted as the president of the Philippine American Bar Association of Los Angeles (PABA) last week.
PABA was formed to address the legal issues confronting the Filipino American community and to meet the professional concerns of Filipino American lawyers in Southern California. PABA sponsors community legal clinics focusing on various areas of the law and provides pro bono legal services. In addition PABA provides continuing legal education seminars and professional development opportunities for its members, and assists Filipino American law students through its scholarship fund and mentorship program. Mr. Pamplona counsels health care providers and affiliated entities regarding administrative appeals, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement regulations, federal and state securities laws, and laws governing health care fraud and abuse. He has significant experience advising clients in all aspects of hospital and pharmacy changes of ownership, including licensure and Medicare/Medicaid provider enrollment, along with extensive experience in representing health care providers in all aspects of civil and administrative litigation. Mr. Pamplona is also a member of the Firm's Pro Bono & Community Service Committee, focusing on immigration matters for children under the Firm's Kids First Initiative.
