London's Pensions Practice Recognized by The Legal 500 UK

LONDON (29 October 2008) — McDermott Will & Emery's London pensions practice has been recognized in The Legal 500 UK (2008 edition).  The Firm ranked in pensions (non-contentious) in the human resources practice area as well as employment.  Partners Alison Wetherfield and David Dalgarno are also recognised as leaders in the field of employment.

In addition to pensions, McDermott ranked in the areas of corporate and commercial law; dispute resolution; finance; human resources; projects and energy; and technology, media and telecoms.  Tax partner Peter Nias was recognised as a leader in corporate tax and Hugh Nineham, head of London's Corporate Department, was recognised as a leader in M&A.

Overall, the Firm ranked in the top 20 among London's global 100 firms based on number of fee earners worldwide, as well as among the top 50 US law firms in London by number of London fee earners.  The Legal 500 UK notes that among commercial firms, "McDermott Will & Emery UK LLP – in contrast to many US firms in London – maintains a full-service approach, with strengths including arbitration, corporate and structured finance, employment, IP, and energy.  It rises in the securitisation ranking this year, and is new to the pensions section."
