Chairman-Elect Announced
CHICAGO - McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Harvey W. Freishtat, has been named Chairman Elect. Harvey will succeed Larry Gerber, who has led the international law firm as Chairman for the past 12 years. Larry and Harvey will continue in their current management roles until 2004 when Harvey will take office as Chairman.
"Harvey has made significant contributions to the Firm and its success since he first arrived. I am confident in his leadership and commitment to the Firm," commented Larry. "McDermott Will & Emery's future is in fine hands."
Harvey Freishtat, who joined McDermott, Will & Emery in 1981, was the founding partner of the Firm's Boston office. Harvey is currently a member of the Firm's Management Committee, and he also chairs the Firm's Compensation and Practice Integration Committees. He received his law degree from Harvard Law School in 1972 and his undergraduate degree from Princeton University in 1968.

Larry, who joined the Firm in 1965 and has been a partner since 1971, established the Firm's Health Law Department and served as its head from 1983 until his election as Chairman in February of 1991. Larry graduated from Loyola University of Chicago in 1962. He became a certified public accountant in 1964 and received his J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 1965.
