Sergio A. Pozzerle Joins McDermott’s Houston Office
Addition of leading renewables project development and finance lawyer further strengthens Firm’s energy practice
HOUSTON (August 6, 2009) — McDermott Will & Emery LLP announced today that Sergio A. Pozzerle has joined the Firm’s Houston office as a partner in the Energy & Derivatives Markets Group. He is recognized by Chambers USA 2009 as one of the nation’s top lawyers in renewables and alternative energy and will add further strength to McDermott’s already distinguished energy practice.
Mr. Pozzerle has represented a variety of U.S. and European renewable power developers, as well as non-renewable (fossil) power generation developers and energy trading companies. Mr. Pozzerle is highly skilled in every stage of project development and finance, from joint venture formation to acquisition/divestiture to turbine supply/construction (EPC) to selling/marketing the end product to the debt and equity financing of those activities, and is a frequent speaker before professional and industry groups on those topics. He has particular practice experience in the financing structures for the rapidly evolving and expanding wind and solar power generation market. Mr. Pozzerle also has an important track record in international energy transactions.

Mr. Pozzerle comes to McDermott from the Houston office of Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. He holds a law degree from Yale Law School, where he was senior editor of Yale Law Journal, and is admitted to practice in Texas.
