Los Angeles Office Adds Leading Litigator

LOS ANGELES (June 22, 2005) — The Los Angeles office of McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to welcome Dana Levitt as a partner in the Firm's Trial Department.  Mr. Levitt, formerly a partner with Alschuler Grossman Stein & Kahan LLP and a member of its business litigation department, focuses his practice on complex commercial disputes.  Mr. Levitt joined the Firm on June 18, 2005.

Mr. Levitt has substantial experience in complex commercial arbitrations, including class arbitrations, and has litigated multiple cases before three-judge arbitration panels.  His litigation work includes the representation of a publicly traded company in a series of contract and trademark disputes filed in five states, a municipality in a contract dispute involving a large regional medical center, and numerous employers in age, race, sex discrimination and sexual harassment cases.  Prior to practicing at Alschuler Grossman, Mr. Levitt served as head of the Litigation Department at Security Pacific National Bank.

Mr. Levitt graduated summa cum laude from the University of Massachusetts in 1974, and is a 1977 graduate of Duke University Law School.  He currently serves on the board of the Children’s Bureau of Southern California.  Mr. Levitt has written and lectured on numerous topics, including the nondiscriminatory provision of credit and techniques for cross-examining plaintiff's experts in disability discrimination claims.
