Silicon Valley IP Star, Vera Elson, Joins McDermott Will
PALO ALTO, CA — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Vera Elson has joined the Firm’s Silicon Valley office as an intellectual property partner.
Ms. Elson represents high tech and other clients on all aspects of complex intellectual property litigation and provides strategic counseling on intellectual property matters. Ms. Elson has a masters degree in electrical engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles. She was an intern for Chief Judge Nies of the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Her practice is built upon extensive experience in high-technology patent cases, trade secret cases, and internet, copyright and licensing matters. Ms. Elson handles complex patent cases in the Federal District Courts as well as before the International Trade Commission.

Ms. Elson graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles (B.S., cybernetics, 1982; M.S.E.E., emphasis in integrated circuit design, 1985) and received her J.D. from the University of Southern California in 1991. She is admitted to practice before the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit; the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court. Before joining the legal profession, Ms. Elson worked as a high-speed digital circuit designer for Hughes Aircraft's Advanced Circuit Technology Laboratory. Ms. Elson was an IP litigation partner at Wilson, Sonsini, Goodrich & Rosati prior to joining McDermott. She is proficient in German and Spanish.
