McDermott Will & Emery Adds to its Houston Corporate Practice
HOUSTON (June 18, 2008) — The Houston office of McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to welcome Scott J. Arrington as its newest partner. Mr. Arrington will be a member of the Firm's Corporate Department as well as the Energy Practice Group.

Listed since 2005 in Chambers USA (Projects – Texas), Mr. Arrington represents U.S. and international companies, joint ventures and public private partnerships in connection with infrastructure development, acquisitions, dispositions, financings and international transactions. Mr. Arrington speaks Spanish and Mandarin Chinese and has spent the majority of his career on international projects in the oil and gas, petrochemical, power and mining industries. In connection with such projects, he has gained considerable experience in advising clients with respect to cross-border transactions and the negotiation, documentation and administration of engineering, procurement and construction contracts.
Mr. Arrington earned his J.D. from the University of Texas and his B.A., cum laude, from Rice University. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the Houston Bar Association, the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association and the U.S.-Mexico Bar Association on which he serves as the 2008 co-chair of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee. Mr. Arrington is a fellow of both the Houston Bar Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation. Additionally, he is a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators, the Houston World Affairs Council, the Asia Society and the Rice Alumni Volunteers for Admission.
McDermott opened its Houston office in February 2008 with the addition of three energy partners, Robert Stephens, David W. Locascio and Jose Luis Vittor, all formerly with Bracewell & Giuliani. The recent addition of James H. Wilson and John P. Cogan adds significant corporate expertise and experience to the office. Opening a Houston office adds important dimensions to the Firm's international energy and corporate practices and lays the foundation for the growth of other important McDermott practice areas, including intellectual property.
