Los Angeles Partner Named Fellow of American Bar Foundation
LOS ANGELES (April 9, 2008) — Dana N. Levitt, a partner in McDermott Will & Emery's Los Angeles office, has been named a member of The Fellows of the American Bar Foundation (ABF). The Fellows of the ABF is an honorary organization of attorneys, judges and law professors whose professional, public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and to the highest principles of the legal profession.
Established in 1955, The Fellows encourages and supports the research program of the ABF. Membership in The Fellows is limited to one third of one percent of lawyers licensed to practice in each jurisdiction. Members are nominated by The Fellows in their jurisdiction and elected by the ABF board.
As a member of McDermott's Trial Department, Mr. Levitt concentrates his practice on complex commercial disputes and trial work. He has represented various companies, entities and individuals in a broad range of cases, including trademark, franchise and contract disputes, product liability cases and racial and sexual discrimination cases. He has also conducted numerous investigations into allegations that company officers were guilty of sexual harassment or age discrimination.
Mr. Levitt is active in the American Bar Association as a member of the Franchise Law, Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Sections. He is a member of the Asian Pacific Bar Association and the International Chamber of Commerce. He serves on the board of the Children's Bureau of Southern California. He earned his J.D. from Duke University School of Law and his B.A., summa cum laude, from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
