Three New Partners Join New York's Corporate Department
NEW YORK (March 27, 2008) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Peter J. Rooney, Vladimir R. Rossman and Todd Finger have joined the Firm as partners. Messrs. Rooney and Finger will join McDermott's M&A and private equity practices in New York. Mr. Rossman will join McDermott's finance & banking and private equity practices in New York.
"This group will provide additional depth for us in our M&A, private equity, and finance practices, as well as our growing international corporate practice," commented Timothy Alvino, head of the Firm's global Corporate Department.
Mr. Rooney focuses his practice on mergers and acquisitions and private equity. He represents private equity firms and U.S. and multinational corporations in acquisitions and sales of public and private companies and in joint ventures. He received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, where he served as an editor of the law review, and his B.A., cum laude, from Amherst College. He is a member of the Bars of New York and Delaware. Prior to entering private practice, Mr. Rooney served as a law clerk to Chancellor William T. Allen of the Delaware Court of Chancery.
Mr. Rossman has more than 20 years' experience in representing buyout groups, investment and commercial banks, central banks, and private and public companies in high-visibility, U.S. and cross-border financings, including financings of private equity buyers, brokerage financings, securitizations, restructurings and workouts. This work gained him recognition in Chambers Global and Chambers USA's "Leaders in Their Field" and Euromoney's "Guide to the World's Leading Banking Lawyers." He received his J.D. from Columbia University Law School, with a certificate from The Parker School of Foreign and Comparative Law; a Ph.D and an M.A. from Columbia University Graduate School of Arts and Sciences; a B.A., cum laude, from Columbia College, Phi Beta Kappa; and a Diploma from The Juilliard School. He is a member of the New York Bar, the American Bar Association, and other bar associations. He is senior survey editor of The Business Lawyer and a member of (and a committee reporter for) the Working Group on Legal Opinions (ABA Section of Business Law).
Mr. Finger focuses his practice on mergers, stock and asset purchases and sales, leveraged buyout transactions, venture capital investments, joint ventures, restructurings and recapitalizations. He also represents and advises private equity and venture capital firms with respect to their investments in public and private companies and their compliance with the U.S. securities laws. He received his J.D. from the New York University School of Law and his B.B.A., with distinction, from Emory University's Goizueta Business School. He previously worked at the White House under President William J. Clinton, and on the presidential campaign of Vice President Al Gore. He is a member of the New York Bar.
