Leading Project Finance Lawyer Joins McDermott's Houston Office
HOUSTON (August 18, 2008) — The Houston office of McDermott Will & Emery LLP is very pleased to welcome David K. Schumacher as its newest partner. Mr. Schumacher, formerly the Managing Partner of Chadbourne & Parke LLP's Houston office, will be a member of the Firm's Corporate Department as well as the Global Energy & Infrastructure Projects Practice Group.

Mr. Schumacher represents lenders, developers and investors in upstream, midstream and downstream oil and gas projects and independent power projects in all parts of the world. He is particularly well recognized for his role in financing energy projects through the creative use of loans from commercial lenders, multilateral lending agencies and export credit agencies as well as through the issuance of debt securities in capital markets.
Mr. Schumacher earned his J.D., with Honors, from the George Washington University Law School and his B.A. from the University of Virginia. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar, the Virginia State Bar and the Texas State Bar.
McDermott represents clients in all facets of the U.S. and global energy, commodities and derivatives markets as well as in the development, financing, operation, buying and selling of energy projects throughout the world.
