David E. Rogers Named Co-Head of McDermott's Washington, D.C. Office
WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 12, 2007) — David E. Rogers has been named co-partner-in-charge of McDermott Will & Emery’s Washington, D.C. office and will serve alongside Bobby R. Burchfield, who has served as partner-in-charge with Timothy J. Waters since June of 2004 when he joined the Firm. Mr. Rogers succeeds Mr. Waters, who has served as partner-in-charge since 1997. Mr. Waters will now serve as co-head of the Firm's 115-lawyer Regulation and Government Affairs Department with antitrust partner Raymond A. Jacobsen.

Mr. Rogers, a member of the Firm's Employee Benefits Department, focuses his practice on employee benefits matters, including the adoption and qualification of pension and profit sharing plans, tax-sheltered annuities, employee welfare benefit plans, COBRA, cafeteria plans, the provision of such benefits in bankruptcy and non-qualified deferred compensation issues. Mr. Rogers served as an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center teaching the graduate seminar class on ERISA. In addition, Mr. Rogers was specifically named in BTI Consulting Group's 2001, 2002 and 2004 Law Firm Client Service All-Star Team surveys of Fortune 1000 clients, in recognition of his superior level of client service. He earned his J.D. from American University-Washington College of Law, his LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center and his B.S. from Florida Southern College.
