McDermott Lawyers Receive 2007 Angel Awards
LOS ANGELES (November 26, 2007) — McDermott Will & Emery is delighted to announce that Los Angeles based lawyers Paul Lawrence and Nima Rabiee are recipients of the 2007 California Lawyer’s Angel Awards. The Angel Awards recognize outstanding pro bono achievements throughout the state and celebrate individual lawyers who have taken on substantial pro bono cases.
Messrs. Lawrence and Rabiee have spent hundreds of hours performing transactional pro bono work for Pacific Clinics, a Southern California nonprofit behavioral health provider. They worked alongside attorneys from Sonnenschein Nath & Rosenthal LLP, who represented Portals House, another nonprofit behavioral health provider in Southern California, to help Pacific Clinics successfully complete its merger with Portals House in July 2007.
"McDermott is extremely proud of the pro bono work our lawyers perform for our community. The Angel Awards are a wonderful recognition for Paul and Nima," commented Don Hilliker, chair of the Firm's Pro Bono and Community Service Committee.
McDermott Will & Emery recognizes and appreciates the need to give back to the communities of which it is a part, assisting those who are unable to afford legal services. The Firm strongly encourages lawyers and staff to participate in pro bono activities, volunteer services and charitable activities. McDermott’s Pro Bono & Community Services Committee seeks to ensure that the same Firm standards of quality, service and care that are given to our paying clients are also afforded to those we serve on a pro bono basis.
