McDermott's Tax Practice Ranked Among Leading Firms in International Tax Review's World Tax 2009 Guide

NEW YORK (April 16, 2009) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that the Firm was highly ranked in International Tax Review's World Tax 2009 guide. 

McDermott's Chicago tax practice was ranked in the first tier among leading local firms.  Tax partner Lowell Yoder's competitors commented that, "He is first rate, I have tremendous respect for him," and that, "he is number one in Chicago."  The World Tax 2009 guide also recognized partner Thomas Borders as, "a strong professional in tax controversy." 

The Washington, D.C. office also ranked in the top tier among leading D.C. firms, "they have great bench strength and very good people," the guide noted.  The guide also recognized Washington, D.C. partners Bob Dilworth, James Riedy and Steven Hannes.  "Bob Dilworth is recognised as a leader in capital markets."  Another leading adviser commented, "If I had an issue, I would go to him."  Mr. Riedy received recognition for his work in cross-border structuring and financial products work and Mr. Hannes was applauded for transfer pricing.
