Orange County Office Welcomes Intellectual Property Partner
IRVINE, CA (January 13, 2009) — McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that Yuichiro Takayanagi has joined the Firm as partner in the Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department based in the Orange County office.
"Yuichiro will be a terrific liaison between the Firm and our Japan-based clients in all intellectual property related matters. Additionally, he will continue to grow and build our client base in the Asian markets," said Terrence P. McMahon, head of the Firm's global Intellectual Property, Media & Technology Department.

Prior to joining McDermott, Mr. Takayanagi worked for Pioneer North America, Inc., a global consumer electronics manufacturer of video, audio and automobile navigation products, with responsibility for patent, licensing, trademark and copyright matters. He also has ten years of experience as North American general counsel of a multinational-industrial electronics manufacturer. He has additional experience in large corporate and finance transactions, domestic and international employment, compliance and corporate governance matters.
Mr. Takayanagi earned his J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law and his B.A. from Nanzan University in Japan. He is admitted to practice in Illinois. Mr. Takayanagi is fluent in Japanese.
The addition of Mr. Takayanagi continues the expansion of the Department with Susan Knoll and Steven Spears joining as partners in McDermott's Houston office in December 2008, and further supports McDermott's commitment to the intellectual property practice.
