USPTO Extends Comment Period for Section 101 Post-Bilski Examination Guidelines
09/30/2009As reported last week, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) issued revised guidelines for examination of patent claims for patent eligibility under 35 USC 101. About three weeks later, the USPTO issued a formal request for public comments on the new Guidelines, with a deadline of September 28, 2009. See McDermott’s previous report here.
On September 29, 2009, the USPTO extended the deadline for comments to October 17, 2009, providing a total of 30 days for comments from the original notice.
