Recent Changes in SEC's Regulation of Investment Advisers

During the past 12 months, the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has significantly revised its regulation of investment advisers. These regulatory changes and their implications on registered investment advisers, as well as investment advisers to hedge funds who are currently exempt from the registration under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 (Advisers Act) are discussed in this article.
