McDermott Will & Emery’s outsourcing practice represents clients in a broad range of outsourcing transactions, ranging from traditional information technology, telecommunications and business process outsourcing to the outsourcing of industry-specific, unique and customized functions and processes.
The outsourcing practice draws upon the Firm’s multidisciplinary practices to address the wide range of client needs that arise during outsourcing transactions, including privacy issues, employee benefits and tax issues, cross-border issues and asset transfer issues. When representing clients in regulated industries (i.e., health care organizations, pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology companies), we coordinate with lawyers across the Firm who have deep experience in these areas in order to assist clients in identifying various regulatory requirements that may be relevant to the services being outsourced. For example, our outsourcing practice routinely works with our top-tier health care practice to offer information technology and other outsourcing services to our clients in the health care industry.
Our group has a global footprint, with lawyers located throughout the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany, and a strategic alliance with MWE China Law Offices in Shanghai. This footprint enables us to serve clients with global operations and to readily deal with issues that arise in these global transactions.
