Our energy practice provides a broad range of services to domestic and international energy industry clients on all aspects of the energy sector in Italy, Europe and the Middle East. We represent developers, operators and suppliers, many of which have a growing focus on renewable energy, as well as private investors and funds, financial institutions, and international brokers and dealers. We are one of the top providers of legal services to participants in competitive energy trading markets.
Specific areas of focus include:
- mergers & acquisitions (including the acquisition of power plants and energy trading businesses)
- joint-ventures and field developments, in particular in the renewables sector
- setting up and financing of power plants and infrastructures
- power plant regulation and contracting
- power, natural gas and LNG, emissions and oil transactions, including GTMA, EFET, ISDA and other master agreements for over-the-counter forward (physical delivery) and derivative (financially settled) transactions
- monitoring, analysing and providing advice on regulatory and legislative developments affecting the energy markets
- legislative processes, public hearings and individual meetings with governmental bodies and regulatory authorities

We maintain excellent relationships with high-level contacts in the Italian Government, as well as the Italian Antitrust Authority (AGCM) and Energy Authority (AEEG).
