Our Firm has been an active proponent of ADR techniques from the beginning, and was a founding member of the CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution. Our attorneys are familiar with the entire range of alternative dispute resolution mechanisms, including neutral evaluation, mediation and mini-trials. We are experienced in various forms of court-annexed ADR, including summary jury trials. McDermott Will & Emery was involved in the largest and most significant summary jury trial yet to take place in the United States; the case was settled thereafter on terms highly favorable to our client.

McDermott Will & Emery continues to be an active member of the CPR Legal Program, and several of our partners are members of the CPR Panel of Distinguished Neutrals. Another partner is the former Co-Chairman of the ADR Committee of the American Bar Association’s Litigation Section.
