  • Representation of the former president and board member of the predecessor company to MCI WorldCom in criminal and SEC actions alleging managed earnings and securities and financial statement fraud

  • Representation of a former CEO and board member of a publicly held technology firm in criminal and SEC investigations and class and shareholder derivative lawsuits involving highly publicized transactions with another public company to manage earnings

Public Auditors

  • Representation of a Big Four accounting firm after the U.S. government seized allegedly tainted funds that had been deposited in the firm's accounts. We persuaded the government to return the funds to our client in exchange for an agreement that the client would not sue the government for its actions.

Professionals in Financial Fraud Investigations

  • Representation of a large Arizona law firm in an investigation focusing on whether it aided and abetted a former firm client, the ex-governor of Arizona, who was charged with making false statements to financial institutions

  • Representation of partners of a prominent law firm suspected of aiding and abetting the Baptist Foundation of Arizona in shifting bad debts to allegedly unrelated entities in order to conceal a multimillion dollar fraud from its investors and parishioners
