REPRESENTATIVE LABOR RELATIONS MATTERS
- Representation as special labor counsel to the unsecured creditors of Bethlehem Steel, National Steel and LTV Steel, three of the five largest steel companies in the U.S., in their Chapter 11 bankruptcies, as well as labor counsel to Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation in its effort to reorganize under Chapter 11.
- Representation as labor counsel to Midcoast Industries, Inc. in its successful acquisition of Georgetown Steel Corp. from its bankrupt parent, GS Industries, Inc.
- Successful trial of numerous arbitration cases involving discipline of employees, including union officials, and contract language interpretation concerning topics including maintenance restructuring and contracting out, holiday benefits during plant shutdowns, cross-training and vacation accrual policies.
- Representation of employers in union organizing proceedings and elections against the USWA, IBT, UFCW, IAM, UPGWA and SEIU.
- Successful procurement of injunctive relief in state courts and at NLRB to enjoin unlawful strike activity.
