Commissioner Bart Chilton of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) will speak on the following topics:
- Increases in regulatory oversight, including the potential proposals from House Agriculture Committee Chairman Collin Peterson, Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman Tom Harkin and President Barack Obama
- Volatility in the commodity markets
- Agriculture’s role in carbon markets and the cap-and-trade bill
Bart Chilton was sworn in as CFTC commissioner in 2007. He has held significant positions at national trade associations, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
