Please join McDermott Will & Emery's Energy & Derivatives Markets Group and Global Renewable Energy, Emissions and New (GREEN) Products Group for a webinar presentation on what the 44th President could mean for renewable energy, emissions markets and energy efficiency.
On Tuesday, December 2, 2008, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM EST Bill Weld, former Governor of Massachusetts, will provide his insights and lead a discussion from New York City regarding the impact of the Obama administration and democratic control of Congress on renewable energy, tax credits, emissions markets and energy efficiency, including from a European perspective.
The Obama-Biden "New Energy for America" plan promised new investment in clean energy, including clean coal, and a focus on energy efficiency. Obama-Biden also promised that 10% of electricity would come from renewable sources by 2012, and 25% by 2025, and an economy-wide cap-and-trade program to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80% by 2050.
The Democratic Party promised "to fast-track investment of billions of dollars over the next ten years to establish a green energy sector," a comprehensive "transition to a clean-energy industry." European banks and developers appear eager to tap the US market.
McDermott's Energy & Derivatives Markets Group and GREEN Group will offer a unique perspective on this historic development, including the GREEN development race and proving return on investments. There will be a Q&A session after the presentation.
