Walking, Running & Bowling for Charity

McDermott Will & Emery's lawyers and staff are always willing to put their best foot forward to walk or run to raise funds for various public interest agencies and law firms, nonprofit organizations and other charities.

On September 26, 2010, the McDermott Football Club participated in the annual America SCORES LA (ASLA) Corporate Cup, a fundraising soccer tournament for the organization. ASLA, the local affiliate of America SCORES, focuses on empowering students in urban communities using soccer, writing, creative expression and service-learning. This was McDermott's seventh year competing in the tournament, and the team finished 2-2-0 for the day.

On May 17, 2010, a team of 16 McDermott volunteers joined for than 4,500 members of the legal community and took part in the London Legal Sponsored Walk to raise funds for the London Legal Support Trust (LLST), a charity that supports the work of – and provides financial assistance to – social welfare legal centers in and around London.

Our London office also participates in the Crisis Square Mile Run, a 3.25 mile run along the banks of the River Thames benefiting Crisis, a national charity supporting the homeless. Additionally, McDermott lawyers and staff in our Boston office annually participate in the Walk to the Hill for Legal Aid to draw attention to the lack of civil legal assistance for low-income individuals and families.
