In follow up to our January 2009 webcast, Stefan Schmitz hosted a presentation on the US stimulus package and its implications for European renewable energy companies in or entering the US market.
Greg Lawrence and Phil Tingle gave a brief overview of the most important aspects of the stimulus package. Following the presentation there was a Q&A session on the package and how it could affect you. Topics covered included the following:
- The extension of, and changes to, the product tax credit (PTC) and the investment tax credit (ITC)
- The possible conversion of the PTC into a 30 per cent of Capex grant by the government
- The federal loan guarantee programme
- Grants for new technology
- Grid expansion
- The federal renewable portfolio standard
