CHICAGO — International law firm McDermott Will & Emery is proud to announce it has been named a top-10 female and family friendly law firm by Yale Law Women (YLW). McDermott was one of only four firms included on both YLW’s 2018 Top Ten Female & Family Friendly Firms lists. The Firm also received individual honors for its commitment to gender equity.

Consistently recognized for implementing comprehensive policies and programming that enable the firm to recruit, retain and promote women lawyers, in 2017 McDermott was listed on Working Mothers “Best Law Firms for Women” (the fourth consecutive year) and named among the top 10 “Best Law Firms for Women” on Law360’s 2017 Glass Ceiling Report. In 2017, McDermott also launched its annual Women’s Summit to provide a forum for frank discussions about the challenges women face in the legal industry and to surface actionable solutions to address them within the McDermott network.
About the Top Ten Family Friendly and Female Friendly Firms Report
To compile the Top Ten Lists, Yale Law Women invited all firms listed in the 2018 Vault Law 100 to participate in their survey of gender equity and family friendly policies. YLW collected data on family accommodations, part-time work, and paid leave, as well as indicators of gender equity such as partnership promotions and the composition of leadership committees. The survey aimed to capture not only the policies on paper, but also their actual use by attorneys at each firm. For more information on the survey methodology, please see the full report.
