The environmental aspect of the proposed gilts will also be a key attraction from an investor perspective, particular for institutional investors such as asset managers and pension funds. The announcement is an encouraging step towards further growth of green finance and structured products. From a legal and documentation perspective, clear disclosure and alignment with Green Principles will be important to build confidence and mitigate against concerns of any green washing.”
