Overview
Lester J. Perling counsels healthcare providers on a variety of regulatory, compliance, enforcement and reimbursement matters, with particular focus on fraud and abuse compliance and investigations. Board-certified in health law by The Florida Bar and certified in healthcare compliance by the Health Care Compliance Association, Lester leverages decades of health industry experience to provide strategic and business-centric counsel to providers engaging in transactions, addressing compliance matters or when facing government and private payor audits, as well as federal and state administrative, civil and criminal investigations. He is particularly experienced in helping clients address regulatory and billing compliance matters.
In addition to his long career in the legal space, Lester has 10 years of experience as a healthcare executive, which allows him to develop creative approaches to complex legal issues that take best business practices and compliance into account.
Lester regularly writes and speaks on fraud and abuse matters and healthcare compliance issues for state and national organizations, including the Health Care Compliance Association, American Health Lawyers Association, American Bar Association and The Florida Bar. He has also served as an adjunct faculty member at Florida International University teaching Health Law within its Healthcare MBA Program.
