Amandeep Sidhu Named to National Law Journal’s 2017 List of “DC’s Rising Stars”

August 31, 2017 – McDermott Will & Emery is pleased to announce that partner Amandeep Sidhu has been named to The National Law Journal’s 2017 DC’s Rising Stars” list. The list highlights 40 of the region’s top lawyers under the age of 40. Honorees are selected for having displayed “success on the highest stages.” In compiling its elite list, The National Law Journal considered recommendations from clients and other professionals and aimed to incorporate a diversity of practice groups and law firms. Mr. Sidhu is joined by the best and brightest of the DC Bar, including six former US Supreme Court clerks.

In The National Law Journal’s profile of Mr. Sidhu, he emphasized that his success is rooted in working tirelessly for partners and clients alike and praised the opportunities provided by one of his mentors, McDermott Partner, Reed Stephens. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration with strong teams of lawyers at the Firm and highlighted a significant victory for a client in high-stakes litigation.

Mr. Sidhu’s practice is focused on complex commercial disputes with an emphasis on regulated industries, including health care-related investigations and litigation. He regularly represents hospitals and health care companies in investigations and defense of qui tam whistleblower litigation involving federal False Claims Act (FCA), Stark Laws and Anti-Kickback Statue in federal district courts throughout the United States. He is also active in representing pro bono clients on a diverse range of clients, including working with the Sikh Coalition and Becket Fund for Religious liberty to end the US military’s ban on the service of observant Sikhs; supporting Breast Care for Washington’s efforts to increase access to services in Washington, DC; and working on cases related to the Executive Orders on immigration.

The National Law Journal “DC’s Rising Stars” list is the latest honor in what is turning out to be a banner year for Mr. Sidhu. This year he was also named to Washington Business Journal’s “40 Under 40 List;” named a “Rising Star” by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA); and recognized as one of the Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business by the Asian American Business Development Center.

Mr. Sidhu actively serves as a member of McDermott’s Racial and Ethnic Diversity & Inclusion Committee and Pro Bono & Community Service Committee.
