William Gaede and Sarah Columbia, in a case with billions of dollars at stake, won a rare post-trial ruling for Amgen Inc. that granted their motion for a permanent injunction blocking Sanofi and Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc. from selling an anti-cholesterol drug which a jury had earlier ruled infringed on Amgen’s patents. The defendants are appealing both the jury verdict and the permanent injunction order.
