Audrey Pumariega was profiled for her work on many pro bono cases through the US District Court for the Southern District of Florida, the Southern Poverty Law Center and Lawyers for Children America, among other organizations. “I think working on pro bono generally … you get opportunities as a young lawyer that you otherwise wouldn’t,” Ms. Pumariega said. She called it “a sobering experience” to know that many of her clients could not afford lawyers without pro bono help.
