McDermott was praised by the National Queer Asian Pacific Islander Alliance (NQAPIA) as having “exemplified corporate social responsibility in 2016” for the Firm’s co-authorship of NQAPIA’s amicus brief to the US Supreme Court in an immigrants’ rights case that showed how immigration laws and policies have a direct impact on the lives of LGBT people.
