ROME (October 6, 2016) – International law firm McDermott Will & Emery represented B Futura, a vehicle for infrastructure development belonging to the national football league, in connection with the establishment of an institutional platform aimed at promoting and developing a portfolio of new football arenas in Italy and supporting local authorities and clubs in raising financial resources.
The private-public platform has been formalized through a framework agreement involving a public sector investor INVIMIT SGR, the Italian Treasury-owned asset manager specialized in public assets, and Istituto per il Credito Sportivo, a state-owned bank focused on financing the sport industry.
Planned projects will involve significant urban regeneration initiatives; therefore the innovative platform will substantially enhance the capacity of local authorities to promote public-private partnership for social infrastructure.
The McDermott team advising on this complex transaction was led by project finance partner Marco Cerritelli and associates Valentina Perrone and Anna Vesco.
Marco’s team has extensive experience in advising public sector authorities in the financing of infrastructure and urban regeneration projects. The team is currently involved in the development of several new football arenas in municipalities of Cagliari, Pescara, Crotone, Avellino and Lampedusa.
