McDermott lawyers were among those representing major technology companies, which received attorneys’ fees from an Illinois federal judge in multidistrict litigation over message management patents asserted by units of a patent licensing firm. The judge agreed with the companies that the fees were merited under the Supreme Court Octane Fitness ruling.
