James Moran, who retired from Congress to join McDermott as a senior legislative advisor in 2015, described his “mix of excitement and trepidation” at being able to lobby for clients now that a one-year statutory waiting period is over. Mr. Moran, who has already worked on behalf of clients supporting the Trans Pacific Partnership trade deal and has traveled to Cuba looking for business opportunities, said of his new role, “You want to feel of value. You get your value from experience.”
