McDermott was among 23 large Washington, DC law firms honored by the D.C. Circuit Judicial Conference Standing Committee on Pro Bono Legal Services for meeting its 2014 challenge of encouraging at least 40 percent of firm lawyers to volunteer 50 or more hours of free legal work a year to individuals or charitable groups.
