Mark Pearlstein said that, as a former federal prosecutor, he had never seen a defense strategy like that used in the trial of accused Boston Marathon bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. “Part of the reason for that is this is a case like very few others,” Mr. Pearlstein noted. “Their strategy is all about the next phase of this trial. I think their view is unless and until the jury has felt that it has condemned him, the jury’s not going to be in a position to more dispassionately consider the decision of a life or death sentence.” Read the full article
