Tony Maida expressed the belief that an Office of Inspector General (OIG) fraud alert to physicians indicates the government’s position that individuals now need to receive the same anti-fraud compliance emphasis previously given to large provider organizations. “As bigger providers become more sophisticated and don’t necessarily do the things to get them in trouble anymore, physicians are becoming more of a target,” Mr. Maida explained.
