Tony Maida said a recent Office of Inspector General fraud alert represents a new focus on individual physicians as opposed to health-care organizations. Mr. Maida continued that the alert highlights OIG’s increasing enforcement of questionable compensation arrangements, and added that physicians should make sure they’re doing the work described in their particular arrangement and not being paid based on referrals.
