BRUSSELS (December 11, 2015) – Brussels-based antitrust partner Andrea Hamilton has been recognized in the Global Competition Review’s ‘40 Under 40’ 2015, a listing of the top young antitrust lawyers in the world. This year’s listing profiles young antitrust minds who have taken on leading roles within their firms.
Andrea began her career as an associate in McDermott’s Washington, DC office in 2003, focusing on US antitrust law, and later moved to McDermott’s Brussels office, joining its EU competition practice. Today, she works closely with the DC and Brussels practices, focusing on EU and international merger control, investigations, and complex antitrust litigation, with significant experience in the defense, life sciences, commodities, chemicals and consumer products industries. Andrea represents clients before the European Commission, European courts and other national competition authorities.
Among other recent work, Andrea served as EU and international coordinating counsel on several high-profile cases, including Lockheed Martin’s USD 9 billion acquisition of Sikorsky and Olam International’s USD 1.2 billion acquisition of the Cocoa Business of ADM and. She also advised Mars on the ex-US filings for its USD 2.9 billion acquisition of Procter & Gamble’s pet food business. Outside of the transactional space, Andrea advises in connection with an ongoing antitrust investigation before the European Commission.
