Mark Pearlstein said he was “not surprised” that a federal jury convicted a friend of aiding the accused Boston Marathon bomber, adding, “I thought the defense fought a good fight but they had the problem that he clearly and repeatedly had lied to the government.” Mr. Pearlstein expressed “my strong sense is that the jury carefully weighed the evidence and concluded that the government had proved its case beyond a reasonable doubt.”
