Stephen Kranz was cited as questioning, at a District of Columbia Bar State and Local Tax panel discussion, the usefulness of state and local tax official responses to a survey that asked their thoughts on taxation gray areas. Mr. Kranz noted that responses in the survey are not supported by law, yet it is those responses that practitioners and taxpayers are keenly interested in because they deal with tax law uncertainties.
