How Did Aereo Fare in Front of the Supreme Court?

Overview

M. Miller Baker, in this globally-broadcast television interview, summed up the Aereo Supreme Court dispute on streaming broadcast TV over the Internet as “the theft of private rights. This gives lawyering a bad name. This is no different than cable television or satellite television … Your average cable or satellite company has to pay royalties to retransmit what they are transmitting, while Aereo does not.” Mr. Baker asserted that “copyright law protects the intellectual property of the people who are transmitting here – the broadcasters,” thus adding, “I believe that ultimately the broadcasters will prevail.”
